Due to the on-going situation in Eritrea, flocks of young people are
making exodus out of the country. Book volumes would not suffice to document
the ordeals these young people are passing through. Reports from the UNHCR
attest to the fact that Eritrea
ranks prominently in the category of nations with the most refugees.

Assistance to those in persecution for their faith |
|
Since the banning of churches by
Eritrean authorities in May 2002, the sheer scale of persecution and
suppression being perpetrated on believers is immense. Public worship is forbidden
by the state. Being a believer at this point in time amounts to an outrageous
crime. Many Christian brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers and even under-age
children have fallen prey to such violations. Not few have lost their lives.

Regarding the families of Christian workers |
|
Despite the adverse situation we
witness in our country, there are today
plenty of servants of the Lord who have put themselves on the cutting
edge for the sake of the Gospel and the
Kingdom of God. We have to be grateful to the Lord for having these men and
women of God who have cherish the Lord above themselves and place the glory of
the Lord above their own interest. They have kept their faith in the face of
adversity from the state.
